RevTrax® Acquires Patent Portfolio Focused on Secure Digital Offer Delivery & Redemption

Digital marketing patents strengthen RevTrax's proprietary POS validation solutions

NEW YORK, May 6, 2014 - Today, RevTrax announced the acquisition of a patent portfolio including three U.S. patents, three U.S. applications and three foreign applications. The patents disclose a system for secure online distribution and validation of promotions across multiple technologies, including print-at-home, load-to-card, mobile and e-commerce.

The newly acquired patents support RevTrax's ability to deliver single-use promotions and contain priority dating back to 1999. The patented technology covers delivery, authentication and activation of secure coupons, gift certificates, vouchers and other documents exchangeable for value.

Customers can activate offers delivered to devices, including desktop, tablet or mobile. The offer is then secured by the unique information which can be translated into a scanable barcode or other unique identifier. Upon redemption at the point-of-sale, the uniqueness of the promotion is determined and the offer is invalidated, preventing misuse.

The full portfolio includes patents No. 7,540,415, No. 8,201,735 and No. 8,640,951, and was purchased through ICAP Patent Brokerage. The patent portfolio remains open for additional continuation filings.
